Abstract

The protection and welfare of women in Pakistan is an essential requirement for building a peaceful, developed, and just society. Women’s empowerment not only addresses their social and economic challenges but also contributes significantly to national progress. While women in urban areas actively participate in social and economic activities and have achieved notable success, women in rural areas continue to face serious issues such as illiteracy, lack of awareness, and insecurity. These challenges hinder their full participation in national development.

For sustainable progress in social welfare, economic stability, and political development, it is necessary to recognize and promote the positive role of women while maintaining a balance between tradition and modernity. Effective implementation of the principles of the Constitution of Pakistan, along with the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah, can ensure the protection of women’s rights and dignity. Furthermore, the government, civil society, and welfare organizations must work collectively to raise public awareness and create opportunities for women’s empowerment. Since women constitute approximately 48.76% of Pakistan’s population, their active participation is indispensable for the country’s development and prosperity.
