Social Welfare Strategies in the Nabvi Era and Its Contemporary Importance

Abstract

Many welfare organizations are working in the world in general and many are also working in Pakistan in particular but the desired benefits are not being obtained from the social welfare works being done. The main reason for this is that, in charitable works, we arrange the prophetic strategy according to our own will, due to which the desired results cannot be achieved. The whole life of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was led for the welfare of humanity and He (S.A.W) always wished for the betterment of people in the world and hereafter. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sought concrete steps that were not only useful for the people of that time but also provided the basis for ideal welfare for people of all ages. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his companions focused on the important sectors of society namely public services, mutual cooperation, safety of life, education, health, and agriculture. Examples of brotherhood of Madinah, resettlement of refugees, contract of Madinah, practical measures to increase the literacy rate, permanent education system of AshabE Suffah, needy tribes, orphans, timely financial assistance to travelers, prisoners & slaves offer strong testimony and evidence from the Prophet Mohammad's biography. Scholars of hadith and Islamic jurists have distinguished various chapters and volumes on these welfare issues and services during the time of the Messenger of Allah (May God bless him and grant him peace). This research article sheds light on all these aspects in a very clear way. Revival of this welfare policy can raise our position as a nation in the world. The need is that we not only need to understand the strategies of Rasoolullah(S.A.W) for economic welfare at the individual as well as national and state levels, but it is necessary to realize collectively that the solution to all our social problems is in the strategies provided by Rasoolullah(S.A.W). Some of the basic strategies have been tried to highlight in this article.
