Islam is a complete and comprehensive system of life that provides full guidance on how to live. This paper examines the Islamic perspective on the system of Aarhat (commission agency) in the context of trade and commerce. The study analyses Aarhat in the light of the Quran, Sunnah, and the views of Islamic jurists (Fuqaha). The research has been carried out by referring to the original sources and presenting two key Islamic rulings for commission agents, along with a critical analysis of juristic opinions.
The core questions explored in this study include: Is Aarhat permissible or not? If permissible, under what conditions? If impermissible, what are the ethical violations that make it so? The findings of the research clearly show that among the basic necessities of human life—food, clothing, and shelter—most are acquired through trade. Trade, however, involves both lawful (halal) and unlawful (haram) aspects. One form of trade is Aarhat, through which services are provided in exchange for a wage or commission. This study investigates under what circumstances such commissions are permissible or impermissible.
This research, while staying within the framework of Islamic Shariah, aims to help understand the legal issues related to Aarhat and sheds light on the contemporary principles of buying and selling.
