This study explores the jurisprudential thought of Syed Abul A’la Maududi concerning the religious condition of the Muslim Ummah during his era and highlights its relevance in the contemporary world. Maududi, a reformer, scholar, and founder of Jamaat-e-Islami, devoted his life to reviving Islamic principles in the spheres of faith, politics, economics, and society. The paper analyzes Maududi’s critique of Western colonial influence, moral decline, and the disintegration of Islamic values among Muslims in the Indian subcontinent. It examines his call for a comprehensive return to the Qur’an and Sunnah as the foundation for intellectual, political, and social renewal. The study also investigates his emphasis on Islamic economic justice, rejection of usury, and the need for spiritual and moral reconstruction in an era of materialism and secular ideologies. In conclusion, the research underscores Maududi’s enduring significance for addressing the contemporary challenges of globalization, moral decay, and intellectual fragmentation through a revival of authentic Islamic thought and governance.
